• Collaborator – with the delivery of staff and student presentations and resources.
  • Flexible – to the needs of both learners and colleagues. This may involve changing a lesson or adapting an assignment after self-reflection or pre-assessment results. This also includes flexible communication with parents and colleagues. It is inevitable that people will disagree, and being able to compromise yet advocate for the student’s best interests is key.
  • Motivated/Task-Oriented – I am self-motivated to respond to student needs, prioritize my schedule, and communicate with team members in a timely fashion.
  • Organized/Structured – I am able to create behaviours plans and facilitate meetings with confidence and the student’s best interest in mind.
  • Positive Attitude – through a display of self-control, emotional intelligence, empathy, and respect in difficult situations. I understand that all behaviour for students and adults alike has a function and is not personal.
  • Research and Data-Focused – I engage in professional learning and reflection to apply learning to practice and ensure best-practice strategies are being used. I share resources with the student’s team and caregivers.
  • Self-Reflective Problem Solver – As teachers learn with their students, mistakes are bound to happen and are a natural part of the learning process. We must reflect on this learning process, often on our feet, and make appropriate adjustments. Identifying problems is easy; identifying solutions is where the magic happens!
